From 2020 to now, Son La province has supported the elimination of 12,667 temporary and dilapidated houses with a total budget of 628,937 billion VND (more than 443,356 billion VND from social sources; more than 185,581 billion VND from the state budget). Implementing the peak campaign from the beginning of 2025 to now, the province has resolutely directed the implementation of support for the elimination of 3,350 temporary and dilapidated houses , including 2,905 newly built houses and 4,45 repaired houses , exceeding the Steering Committee's Plan by 513 houses. Through the review after the floods in 2025, the whole province has 2,546 temporary and dilapidated houses that need support for new construction and repair.

To implement the support for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses newly arising in the province to ensure accuracy, objectivity, and the right subjects, avoiding policy exploitation, the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions proposes to the Provincial People's Committee to direct departments, branches, and People's Committees of communes and wards to base on national target programs: Program 1719, Poverty Reduction Program, Housing Support Program for People with Meritorious Services to the Revolution to support the construction and repair of houses for people in need, ensuring the right subjects and regulations of each Program. For houses not subject to the programs, it is recommended that the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, together with the People's Committees of communes and wards, mobilize socialized funds from various sources to support the people.

At the meeting, Mr. Dang Ngoc Hau, Vice Chairman of Son La Provincial People's Committee, requested the communes to review all households in need of housing support in the newly-arising area, re-evaluate to finalize the data before October 30, in order to soon implement the elimination of temporary houses, striving to achieve by December 31, 2025 so that these households will be able to celebrate the New Year in new houses, and the households that arise later will implement the next phase. He requested the communes to regularly collect difficulties and obstacles, especially those related to investment and payment procedures. During the implementation process, honest data is required, not chasing after achievements. He also assigned the tasks to the Departments of Ethnicity and Religion, Agriculture and Environment, Construction, and Finance to focus on reviewing the National Target Program 1719, guiding and urging the communes to implement procedures and documents according to the form to ensure disbursement progress. He requested that communes apply technology and software uniformly throughout the province to enter and process data, criteria, and figures on eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in order to closely and scientifically monitor and avoid disadvantages for the people. He requested to review the criteria for assessing new rural areas, avoid formalism, and ensure policies for the locality. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province needs to urgently allocate support funds for households severely affected by floods and storms, not to let the floods pass long while people still have to stay temporarily, striving to disburse the allocated funds by December 15.
