According to the latest announcement from the V-League Organizing Committee, the three names nominated for the best player of the 2023 season include: Nguyen Hoang Duc (Viettel), Nguyen Hai Huy (Hai Phong) and Tran Nguyen Manh ( Nam Dinh ).
Hoang Duc is the leading candidate for the title of best player of V-League 2023.
Notably, all three players on this list are not members of the two championship teams ( Hanoi Police) or runner-up (Hanoi FC).
Two players on the nomination list this time, Hai Huy and Nguyen Manh, were not called up by coach Troussier to join the Vietnamese team during FIFA Days in September.
Currently, Hoang Duc is considered the most advantageous person to win the title of best player of V-League 2023.
This season, the midfielder born in 1998 has scored 5 goals and had 5 assists, contributing greatly to helping Viettel finish third in the V-League.
He also contributed significantly to bringing the army team to the final of the 2023 National Cup.
Meanwhile, Hai Huy had an impressive performance in the 2023 season when he played all 20 matches in the V-League, scoring 4 goals.
But his team only finished 7th and this cost him the advantage in the race for the best player title.
After the V-League 2023 ended, Hai Huy also announced his farewell to Hai Phong Club and his new destination will likely be Binh Duong.
As for goalkeeper Tran Nguyen Manh, he is an expensive contract of Nam Dinh in the ambition to conquer the V-League throne.
This season, Nguyen Manh played 18 times for the team from Thanh Nam and kept 8 clean sheets.
But like Hai Huy, the team from Thanh Nam did not play very well, finishing only 5th on the rankings.
The best player title will be announced at the V-League Awards 2023 ceremony taking place at 6:30 p.m. on August 31 in Hanoi.
