Journalism strengthens professional ethics and social responsibility in the digital age

The workshop took place at a time when the whole country was looking forward to the 14th National Congress of the Party, after localities had completed organizing Party Congresses at all levels; preparing for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term. These are events of special importance in the country's political life.

In his opening speech, Mr. Mai Duc Thong, Editor-in-Chief of Newspaper, Radio and Television, Chairman of Tuyen Quang Provincial Journalists Association affirmed that the Workshop is an opportunity for local journalist associations to meet, exchange expertise, share good models and effective solutions in association work as well as in organizing professional activities. This is also an opportunity for journalists to look at and discuss new requirements for professional ethics and social responsibility of the press in the context of strong development of digital media.

2025 is considered a year of many important innovations for press activities, when the process of arranging and merging press agencies is implemented synchronously in many localities. Streamlining the organization, limiting duplication of functions, and concentrating resources are considered necessary steps to build modern, convergent newsrooms, increase competitiveness, innovate and improve the quality of information.

With the theme "Professional ethics and social responsibility of journalists in the digital age", the workshop focused on discussing many contents, including: building a cultural environment in press agencies; strictly implementing the Press Law and regulations on professional ethics; improving the quality of training and fostering members in the context of digital transformation and the development of artificial intelligence; difficulties in organizing associations when implementing mergers; and issues of political and ideological education and civic responsibility of journalists.

With the spirit of open exchange, the presentations and opinions at the Workshop will make practical contributions, helping local journalists' associations to successfully fulfill their political tasks, while improving the quality of association activities in the coming time.

At the end of the Workshop, the Organizing Committee handed over the Flag of the 2026 Workshop hosting unit to the Bac Ninh Provincial Journalists Association.
