The No. 4 aircraft maintenance service construction and business investment project is the first aviation service project of the Component 4 Project of Long Thanh International Airport Phase 1 to find an investor.

VAECO currently has 6 hangars at two main maintenance facilities at Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat that can maintain wide-body and narrow-body aircraft.

The Minister of Transport has just signed Decision No. 1496/QD - BGTVT approving the results of selecting investors for the Project to invest in construction and business of aircraft maintenance services No. 4 at Long Thanh International Airport.

Accordingly, the winning investor is Vietnam Aircraft Engineering Company Limited (VAECO) - a member unit of Vietnam Airlines Corporation.

According to Decision No. 1496, in the first 5 years (60 months) from the date the Project is put into operation and provides aircraft maintenance services, aircraft propellers and aircraft equipment (aviation technical services), the state budget payment level is 0.05% of revenue (excluding value added tax).

From the 6th year onwards, the minimum payment to the state budget is 2% of revenue (excluding value added tax). The increase rate of the minimum payment to the state budget is 2.5% of the minimum payment to the state budget.

The progress of the implementation of the Project on investment in construction and business of aircraft maintenance services No. 4 is 17.9 months (from the effective date of the project contract).

The Ministry of Transport assigned the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, as the inviting party, to sign and manage the contract based on the approved investor selection results; at the same time, negotiate with the winning investor to shorten the progress as much as possible to soon complete and put the Project of Investment in Construction and Business of Aircraft Maintenance Services No. 4 at Long Thanh International Airport into safe, effective and synchronous operation with other projects under the direction of the Government and the Prime Minister .

Project No. 4 for investment in construction and business of aircraft maintenance services aims to build an aircraft maintenance area and provide aircraft maintenance services, meeting the exploitation requirements of Long Thanh International Airport phase 1.

The project has a scale of investment in the construction of aircraft maintenance service facilities and equipment systems to meet the maintenance capacity at one time for 1 code E aircraft and 2 code C aircraft; construction of an operating house and auxiliary items, synchronous technical infrastructure to serve production and business.

The preliminary total cost of the Project is about 785 billion VND; the implementation location is at Area E-01 at Long Thanh International Airport with an area of ​​45,454 m2.

Long Thanh International Airport Component 4 Project includes 17 construction items, divided into 2 groups.

Group of construction items 4a (in the total investment of the Project) includes the following items: cargo terminal No. 2; express cargo terminal; forwarder warehouse No. 1; aircraft cleaning area No. 1; ground service vehicle maintenance area No. 1; airline catering area No. 1; solar power system.

Group of construction items 4b (not included in the total investment of the Project) includes the following items: fuel pipeline system for aircraft from the source port to the port boundary; aircraft cleaning area No. 2; ground service vehicle maintenance area No. 2; freight forwarder warehouse No. 2 to No. 8; aviation catering area No. 2; airline operations center; aircraft maintenance area (hangar); airport city; aviation industrial park; aviation logistics area.
