ACB gold bars return to the market after 13 years.

Today, October 2nd, ACB became the first bank to announce the relaunch of its gold trading business from October 10th and the re-launch of the ACB gold bar brand.

Following the Government's issuance of Decree No. 232, amending and supplementing several articles of Decree No. 24 on the management of gold trading activities, many eligible banks and gold businesses are urgently completing procedures to import gold for the production of gold bars when the Decree officially takes effect on October 10th.

Among them, ACB is the first bank to announce the return of its previously used gold bar brand to the market.

ACB resumes trading in gold bars.

Along with relaunching the gold bar brand, ACB also announced the terms and conditions regulating gold bar trading transactions. Accordingly, the bank will begin trading gold bars at some branches in the near future.

The types of gold traded include ACB and SJC branded gold bars, and other types of gold bars as regulated and updated depending on the period.

With SJC gold bars, branches will only trade in 1-ounce bars. However, with ACB branded gold bars, the bank trades all weights.

Payment is made in VND, through an account at ACB. Payment and gold delivery will be completed on the same day or within a maximum of two business days.

According to ACB's announcement, gold bars are products stamped into ingots, bearing letters and numbers indicating weight, quality, and the hallmark of the business or commercial bank authorized by the State Bank of Vietnam to produce them.

Buyers and sellers of gold bars must transact at the listed or agreed-upon price of ACB at each given time. Individual customers must also provide complete information, identification documents, and legal records. Organizational customers must present a gold bar trading license issued by the State Bank of Vietnam.

Customers have the right to request an invoice from ACB when purchasing gold, and ACB must also issue an invoice when selling gold bars to the bank. In addition, customers must fully comply with all legal regulations regarding gold trading, as well as the bank's guidelines and fee schedule.

ACB has the right to inspect the quality of gold bars provided by customers, collect any fees incurred such as packaging and processing fees, and is obligated to issue invoices for the sale of gold when customers purchase it. The bank will also provide transaction information to competent authorities when requested and commits to complying with legal regulations in each period.

"The gold price list displayed on the ACB One website and application is for reference only. In case of system malfunction, the applicable price will be the counter price or the system price at the time of the transaction. Customers bear all risks from gold price fluctuations and any losses arising from their buying and selling decisions," ACB emphasized.

SJC gold bar prices remain high.

At the end of October 2nd, the selling price of SJC gold bars at SJC Company was 138 million VND/ounce, while the buying price was 136 million VND/ounce.

Other gold brands such as PNJ and Mi Hong also raised the selling price of SJC gold bars accordingly. However, the difference between the buying and selling price at large gold shops is only 1 million VND/ounce, half the difference at SJC Company.

The selling price of 9999 gold rings at SJC Company also increased to 134.2 million VND/ounce, while the buying price was 131.5 million VND/ounce.

Compared to the converted world gold price, the current price of SJC gold bars is 14.2 million VND/ounce higher, while the price of 9999 gold rings is 10.4 million VND/ounce higher.

Before 2012, there were many domestic gold bar brands such as Phoenix gold bars from PNJ Company, gold bars from Saigon Thuong Tin Bank's Gold, Silver and Gemstone Company (SBJ), ACB brand gold bars from Asia Commercial Bank, AAA gold bars from Agribank, etc.
