Fukuroda Waterfall

Fukuroda Waterfall

"Fukuroda Falls" is one of Japan's three most famous waterfalls. It's an incredibly large waterfall, 120 meters high and 73 meters wide, with its flow divided into four tiers, cascading down a massive rock wall, hence its other name, "the four-tiered waterfall." Furthermore, it's said that "if visitors don't experience the waterfall at least once in each season, they won't truly appreciate its unique charm."

When the ice wall melts, the sound of trickling water cascading down the waterfall signals the arrival of spring. Visitors can enjoy the harmonious blend of the clear sound of water and the vibrant green of trees sprouting new leaves.

In summer, the raindrops, bathed in sunlight, sparkle as if dancing with countless crackling sounds. All of this creates a vibrant rainbow, captivating visitors.

In autumn, the waterfall is adorned with a colorful coat of red Momiji leaves. Visitors should definitely visit Fukuroda Falls to admire this vibrant display. The best time to see the waterfall this year is expected to be from mid-November.

In winter, would visitors like to see the mysterious beauty of the waterfall when it freezes? Once again, visitors will be impressed by the magic of the changing seasons. From November to January, a light festival is held here, highlighting the four frozen tiers of the waterfall in a breathtakingly beautiful way.

Tsukimachi Waterfall

Tsukimachi Waterfall

Locals often call this the "father waterfall" because on days with high water levels, a smaller branch of the waterfall appears, known as the "child waterfall," making the two waterfalls a father-child combination. However, this is very rare; if visitors are fortunate enough to witness this phenomenon, they are truly lucky. Since ancient times, people have come here to pray for good fortune, safe childbirth, and raising healthy children, hence the name Tsukimachi Waterfall.

This is a natural waterfall that flows in three branches, approximately 17 meters high and 12 meters wide. The area behind the waterfall is hollow, allowing visitors to explore and admire the entire cascade from within. The path leading to the waterfall is lined with many Momiji maple trees; the seasonal beauty of the maple leaves makes the waterfall's scenery truly special. Visitors can also come here in winter to see the waterfall freeze over.
