Called bee pupae, that is, young bees about 20 days old are still in the honeycomb. When the beekeepers harvest honey, they have to cut a part of the honey along with a few nests with bee pupae so that the bee colony can continue to develop.

Bee pupae are used to make salad.

When the bee pupae are harvested, put them in a pan of boiling water and boil until the honeycomb (beeswax) melts. Then remove the bee pupae floating on the surface and drain before preparing the salad.

The wild pennywort from the U Minh cajuput forest is picked, washed, soaked in diluted salt water for about 5 minutes, then removed, washed again and drained. The ingredients for mixing pennywort and bee pupa salad include: tomatoes, onions, lemons, chili, garlic, rice vinegar, chili sauce and a little cooking oil... This salad cannot lack the sauce made from crushed garlic and chili, add sugar, MSG, seasoning powder, chili sauce, rice vinegar... season to taste, then stir the spices well with a little cooking oil to blend the sauce together and then mix the salad.

There's nothing better than young green pennywort stalks cut from the garden to make bee pupa salad.
