VEC speaks out about paving the Noi Bai - Lao Cai highway during heavy rain

According to the report of the supervising consultant, VNC Construction Joint Stock Company, on the afternoon of May 9, at the section Km96+135 - Km96+145.51, when the contractor was spreading asphalt concrete about 10m long along the median strip (on the left side of the route), there were signs of rain. When the rolling reached 18/24 turns, it started to rain.

After making a record of the scene, the supervisory consultant and the contractor agreed to continue compacting according to the process to ensure temporary traffic safety for vehicle owners, then drill samples to check the quality of the asphalt concrete. If it does not meet the standards, they will proceed to scrape and re-construct.

According to VEC, the handling by the supervision consultant and contractor is in accordance with current regulations and technical instructions in the contract between VEC and the construction contractor. However, to ensure quality, the construction contractor will remove 10m of the length and re-construct when the weather is favorable.

The investor VEC requires the supervision consultant and contractor of the Noi Bai - Lao Cai route repair packages to seriously draw lessons for engineers and technical workers on standard behavioral culture in the process of contacting and exchanging information with organizations, businesses, people and press agencies.
