According to Dr. Ta Anh Tuan, Director of Hoan My Saigon Hospital, the Gold Certification is one of three levels of the WSO Angels Awards - a prestigious award presented by the World Stroke Organization to medical facilities with excellent stroke treatment processes. Achieving this certification marks an important step forward in improving the quality of stroke treatment at the hospital, in line with international medical standards.
To be recognized, a hospital must meet many strict criteria regarding its emergency system, professional capacity, modern equipment, and stroke emergency treatment procedures such as thrombolysis, revascularization intervention, and cerebral infarction treatment. One of the important criteria is the percentage of patients treated within the “golden time” – from 60 to 120 minutes from admission.
“Achieving the Gold Certification demonstrates the synchronization and speed in the stroke treatment process, helping to optimize treatment time. Hoan My Saigon Hospital is currently in the Top 5% of Stroke Units worldwide and is one of 17 facilities in Ho Chi Minh City with a complete stroke treatment process recognized by the Department of Health,” said Dr. Ta Anh Tuan.
On this occasion, the hospital also organized a scientific seminar "Update on acute stroke treatment 2025", with the participation of doctors and experts inside and outside the Hoan My system to share new advances in diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation after stroke.
Every year, Hoan My Saigon Hospital receives more than 1,000 stroke cases and successfully treats hundreds of cases thanks to a comprehensive intervention system, including: thrombolysis, mechanical thrombectomy, resuscitation - neurosurgery and rehabilitation. The rehabilitation rate at the hospital is about 65%.
