Vietnam - Poland promote higher education cooperation

The Vietnam-Poland Higher Education Cooperation Forum took place on October 31 in Ho Chi Minh City, bringing together more than 100 delegates from both countries. The event not only aimed to enhance academic exchanges but also demonstrated the commitment to expanding educational cooperation in the context of celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Poland diplomatic relations (1950-2025).

The forum was jointly organized by the Polish Embassy in Hanoi, the Polish National Agency for Educational Exchange (NAWA) and RMIT University Vietnam. Attending were representatives of the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training, along with more than 38 universities from Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, Tra Vinh , Da Nang and partner schools from Poland.

Speaking at the forum, Mr. Wojciech Karczewski, Director of NAWA, expressed his desire to promote higher education cooperation between the two countries. He encouraged Vietnamese universities to learn about NAWA's funding programs, scholarships and activities to enhance cooperation and research projects in many fields, especially in sectors serving the socio-economic development of the two countries.

Established in 2017, NAWA coordinates national activities aimed at promoting the internationalization of Polish universities and research institutes. It supports the internationalization of science, promotes Polish language and culture, strengthens the international presence of Polish higher education, and promotes the transfer of knowledge and skills for the economy.

Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Tran Vu, Vice Rector of the University of Technology (Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City) said: “As the person in charge of international cooperation and scientific research projects, I always want to expand partnerships to implement the university's science - technology development and internationalization strategies. Meeting with NAWA representatives and Polish universities today is a good opportunity to develop new cooperative relationships in the future.”

At the end of the forum, Professor Iwona Miliszewska, Dean of the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology (RMIT University Vietnam) emphasized: “International cooperation is a strong driving force for innovation in many fields. I hope that the cooperation between Vietnamese and Polish universities will bring about influential research projects, contributing to the development of science and technology and expanding opportunities for academic exchange for both countries.”
