Vietnam hands over video conferencing equipment to Cuban National Assembly, strengthening parliamentary solidarity

On July 21, in Havana (Cuba), the Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba, on behalf of the Vietnamese National Assembly, handed over 71 packages of online meeting equipment to the Cuban National Assembly. This is an activity within the framework of the Parliamentary Cooperation Agreement between the two countries, demonstrating the strong friendship.

Attending the handover ceremony were Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Le Quang Long and Embassy staff; President of the Cuban National Assembly Esteban Lazo Hernández, Vice President Ana María Machado, Secretary General Homero Acosta, representatives of specialized committees of the Cuban National Assembly and Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Rogelio Polanco Fuentes.

According to information from the Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba, 71 packages, including servers, conference cameras, audio equipment and specialized screens, were purchased and transported by air by the Office of the Vietnamese National Assembly.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Le Quang Long expressed his belief that this equipment system will contribute to modernizing the activities of the Cuban parliament and promoting online parliamentary exchanges between the two countries.

Secretary General of the Cuban National Assembly Homero Acosta emphasized that the Cuban National Assembly appreciates the practical support from Vietnam, commits to effectively using the equipment and wishes to continue to strengthen cooperation in sharing legislative experience and training officials.

The handover ceremony once again reaffirms Vietnam’s “loyal and devoted” commitment to Cuba, while opening up a new direction for parliamentary cooperation in the digital age. The Vietnamese Embassy will continue to be a bridge to monitor and support cooperation programs between the two National Assemblies.
