Vietnam hosts the first International Conference on Industrial and Applied Mathematics

This is the first time Vietnam has hosted this event, co-organized by the Vietnam Mathematical Society and the Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics.

With the participation of many leading scientists in the country and the world, the conference introduced scientific reports revolving around key topics of applied mathematics, such as optimization, numerical simulation, dynamic systems, linear algebra, data science and interdisciplinary research directions related to the needs of modern industry and technology.

At the conference, scientists presented new research results, shared academic experiences, and discussed the development prospects of applied mathematics in the context of globalization. The conference was also an important bridge to promote the connection between academic mathematics and applied mathematics, affirming the role of mathematics in solving the challenges of modern society.

Parallel to the workshop is the ICIAM Council Meeting, which brings together representatives of national and regional mathematical societies around the world . This is an annual activity of key significance in coordinating major activities of the international industrial and applied mathematics community; including the preparation for the ICIAM Congress - a four-year event considered the "Olympics" of applied mathematics.

The International Conference on Industrial and Applied Mathematics is an important scientific event organized annually by the International Council for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (ICIAM). ICIAM is an international organization that brings together Industrial and Applied Mathematics Societies worldwide, with the role of coordinating, promoting research cooperation and connecting the mathematical community in solving practical problems of science, technology and industry.

ICIAM Council meetings are held on a rotational basis in member countries to discuss strategy, plan major directions and strengthen links within the global applied mathematics community.

Vietnam's selection as the host country of this year's Conference not only affirms the increasingly enhanced position of the Vietnamese mathematical community, but also opens up many opportunities for research cooperation and international connections.
