Vietnam strengthens medical cooperation with the Republic of Armenia

NDO - From April 1 to April 5, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man led a high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly along with a number of leaders of ministries, branches and localities on an official visit to the Republic of Armenia. Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan was an official member and attended many activities of the delegation.

During the official visit to the Republic of Armenia by the National Assembly Chairman, Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan visited and worked at the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia, held talks with the Minister of Health of Armenia - Ms. Anahit Avanesyan. Also attending were leaders of the Department of International Cooperation and representatives of a number of relevant agencies of the Ministry of Health of Armenia.

Armenian Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan welcomed Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan to visit and discuss with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia issues of mutual interest in the health sector.

At the same time, the Armenian Minister of Health proposed priority areas to promote cooperation between the two sides in which Vietnam has a lot of experience, such as: training to improve the capacity of medical staff, cancer treatment including radiotherapy methods, cardiovascular diseases, infectious diseases, non-communicable diseases, vaccination, health insurance, digitalization in the medical field, and traditional medicine, which is Vietnam's strength.

The two leaders of the two health ministries agreed to continue promoting the good traditions between the two countries and boost medical cooperation in the coming time.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister Tran Van Thuan highly appreciated the achievements that the Armenian health sector has made, contributing to improving people's health. The areas of health cooperation between the two sides focus on improving the capacity of high-quality health human resources, disease prevention and control, and basic medical research.


Deputy Minister Tran Van Thuan said that the above fields are basically the fields that the Vietnamese health sector is interested in and wants to promote cooperation with the Armenian Ministry of Health in the coming time, including pharmaceuticals, traditional medicine, prevention and control of non-communicable diseases, infectious diseases, vaccination and many other fields.

Also at the talks, the two leaders of the two health ministries agreed to continue promoting the good traditions between the two countries and promote medical cooperation in the coming time; at the same time, assigning specific exchange points, first of all, to soon give opinions on the content of the Memorandum of Understanding on medical cooperation between Vietnam and Armenia to continue effectively implementing medical cooperation contents, as a basis for further implementation of cooperation priorities of mutual interest to both sides.

On this occasion, Deputy Minister Tran Van Thuan sent an invitation from Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan to Minister Anahit Avanesyan to officially visit Vietnam at an appropriate time and it is expected that the two sides will sign a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the health sector.
