Vietnam presents Laos with a friendship park in the capital Vientiane.

On January 10, during his visit and working trip to Laos, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Park project in Vientiane, Laos.

The Laos - Vietnam Friendship Park project has an area of ​​over ^30,000m2 located in Xaythany district, Vientiane capital - the place planned to be the new urban center of the capital of Laos after being expanded. In the middle of the park is a square, an artificial lake and surrounded by green trees. In the central square of the park, there is a cluster of reliefs depicting historical and cultural elements of Laos with the national flags of Laos and Vietnam. In front is a cluster of statues of 3 leaders of Vietnam and Laos: President Ho Chi Minh , President Kaysone Phomvihane and President Souphanouvong.

The project was presented to the Lao Party, State and people by the Party, State and people of Vietnam in the form of a "turnkey". The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam and the Central Office of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party were assigned by the Party and State of Vietnam and Laos as investors. The project management board strives for this to be a model project, ensuring completion on schedule with the highest quality. The project is expected to be completed in 2025 to celebrate the National Party Congresses of the two countries.

At the ceremony, Chief of the Central Office of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Thongsalith Mangnomek affirmed that the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Park is a symbol of the times of the two countries, representing the tradition built and nurtured by many generations over a long time.

Upon completion, the project will become one of the greenest, cleanest and most beautiful parks in Vientiane, a place to serve the people and tourists, and at the same time a red address in educating revolutionary traditions, great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos for the people of the two countries, especially the young generation.
