The inaugural flight, numbered VN648, departed from Ho Chi Minh City at 0:50 on June 17 and landed at Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Manila at 4:20 the same day. Passengers on the flight were given flowers, souvenirs and a special welcome at the airport.

Specifically, the flight route between Ho Chi Minh City - Manila has a frequency of 04 flights/week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The flight route between Hanoi - Manila has a frequency of 03 flights/week on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Vietnam Airlines flights to and from the Philippines will be operated at Terminal T1, Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Manila.
