Viettel Cyber ​​Security recorded more than 8.5 million stolen accounts in Vietnam

In the face of increasingly sophisticated cyber attacks and the explosion of artificial intelligence (AI), Viettel Cyber ​​Security Company Limited (Viettel Cyber ​​Security - VCS) in collaboration with IEC Group, under the auspices of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee, organized the Information Technology and Information Security Senior Leadership Conference - CIO CSO Summit 2025 with the theme "Cybersecurity Strategy - Creating a sustainable future in the era of important operations by AI".

The conference, held in Ho Chi Minh City, attracted a large number of 300 guests, including IT and Information Security (IS) leaders of management agencies, large enterprises and domestic and foreign technology experts... aiming to accompany the Government and the business community in shaping long-term cyber security strategies, sharing knowledge and practical experiences, as well as introducing new technologies in the field.

In recent years, AI has become one of the most influential technological drivers, not only opening up the ability to predict, detect and respond to incidents faster and more accurately, but also being exploited by cybercriminals as a “new weapon”.

According to data from Viettel Threat Intelligence, in the first 6 months of 2025, Vietnam recorded more than 8.5 million stolen accounts, nearly 530,000 distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks, 191 data leaks with more than 3 billion records, three times more than the same period in 2024. In particular, many new forms of AI-based attacks have emerged, from personalized phishing emails, fake deepfakes to self-mutating malware, causing many challenges and pressures for traditional defense systems.

One of the important highlights of CIO CSO Summit 2025 is the launch of VCS Intel Hub - the first cybersecurity knowledge sharing community in Vietnam. With the philosophy of "Together we are stronger", the VCS Intel Hub platform is expected to connect businesses, organizations and experts, share and provide early warnings, coordinate rescue and build a domestic knowledge ecosystem, creating optimal conditions for AI to operate effectively in the context of Vietnam.

CIO CSO Summit 2025 is designed as a comprehensive forum, combining strategic perspectives and operational practices. In the Plenary Session, all guests will be updated with the latest trends in global cybersecurity and the impact of AI from international research organizations and from VCS's approach.
