Culturalist Huu Ngoc is a great name in the field of research and preservation of Vietnamese culture. He passed away at 7:10 p.m. on May 2, 2025, leaving behind endless sorrow in the hearts of those who love national culture and the international community.

His full name is Nguyen Huu Ngoc, born in 1918 in Hang Gai Street, Hanoi , and his hometown is Thuan Thanh, Bac Ninh. With a solid academic background and excellent research talent, he is known as an erudite researcher, fluent in many languages, including French, English, German, and able to read and understand Chinese characters.

These qualities helped him access ancient documents and cultural works of many civilizations, thereby contributing greatly to the research and development of Vietnamese culture. He devoted his life to researching, preserving and developing traditional cultural values, thereby building a solid bridge between Vietnamese culture and the world .

He is the author of many research works and dozens of books on Vietnamese culture, written in English and French. He has translated many foreign literary and cultural works into Vietnamese. His works not only reflect the depth of national culture but also provide sharp analysis of the cultural exchange between Vietnam and other cultures in the world. These works have become valuable documents, contributingto educating and inspiring the generation of researchers and those who love Vietnamese culture.

With tireless contributions throughout his career, cultural writer Huu Ngoc has received many prestigious awards such as the Independence Medal and the Military Exploit Medal, the Academic Palm Medal (France), the Order of the North Star (Sweden), the Vietnam Book Gold Prize 2006, the Vietnam Book Bronze Prize 2015, the Vietnam National Book Award 2017, the National First Prize 2015 for Foreign Information, the Bui Xuan Phai Grand Prize for Love of Hanoi 2017...

The funeral of Huu Ngoc Cultural House will be held at 1:00 p.m. on May 5 at the Funeral Home of Hospital 198, 58 Tran Binh, Hanoi, with the memorial service and funeral taking place at 2:00 p.m. the same day.
