Vinh Long organizes festival, sets record of 135 dishes made from pomelo

Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh, Vice Chairwoman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee, has just signed a decision approving the plan to organize Thanh Tra Festival, performing a Vietnamese record of 135 culinary dishes made with Thanh Tra ingredients from Binh Minh town.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long province, the festival will open on the morning of April 12 at Dong Thanh Secondary and High School. The organizing committee will arrange a space to display and promote pomelos, tofu, OCOP products and typical products of Vinh Long province and a culinary competition, performing a Vietnamese record of 135 culinary dishes made with pomelos.

At the festival, there will be about 25 display booths, free pomelo tasting space, a rural market space selling pomelos; introducing and serving free sweet potatoes and Binh Minh bean curd.

The festival aims to honor and introduce the value of Thanh Tra, a specialty of Binh Minh town to the people and tourists, contributing to raising the position of Thanh Tra on the Vietnamese culinary map; creating opportunities for exchange and connection between growers, traders and consumers, tourists; contributing to promoting the development of local tourism associated with the typical agricultural product of Thanh Tra - a specialty fruit of Binh Minh town.

In particular, the Nam Cap sweet pomelo variety has met the 4-star OCOP product standard, with a selling price of 120,000 - 160,000 VND/kg.
