Supreme People's Procuracy: Criminal prosecution and supervision work both exceeded the targets assigned by the National Assembly.

(Chinhphu.vn) - Since the beginning of the year, the Supreme People's Procuracy has achieved many outstanding results in all areas of work. Notably, the work of criminal prosecution and supervision, the rate of case settlement, the rate of timely prosecution and the rate of correct prosecution have all exceeded the targets assigned by the National Assembly.

The summary report on some results of the prosecution sector in 2025 shows that in 2025, the Party Standing Committee and the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy promptly issued resolutions, plans, and directed the streamlining of the apparatus organization according to Resolution 18 of the Central Committee. Up to now, it has basically operated smoothly and effectively.

Specifically, 921 management units have been reduced, including: 3 high-level People's Procuracy, 18 department-level units, 29 provincial-level People's Procuracy, 338 district-level People's Procuracy and 533 divisions of People's Procuracy at all levels; 920 heads have been reduced. By 2030, it is expected to reduce about 1,468 corresponding deputy leadership and management positions.

The Supreme People's Procuracy has promptly disseminated, thoroughly grasped, and implemented the Party's strategic resolutions. It has completed 5 major projects, 3 of which have been approved; implemented the Law and resolutions of the National Assembly , and urgently completed the institution according to the 3-level People's Procuracy model.

In particular, tasks have been deployed to prepare and create conditions for the piloting of public interest civil proceedings according to the Resolution of the National Assembly.

Along with that, the Supreme People's Procuracy has issued a Plan to synchronously implement digital transformation and information technology application. Launched the "Digital Education for the People" movement, encouraged civil servants to proactively study, and put the Supreme People's Procuracy's Intelligent Operation Center - IOC into operation. At the same time, piloted the Criminal Case Management platform and the People's Procuracy Data Portal.

Notably, the prosecution and supervision work in the criminal field achieved many outstanding results. Accordingly, the Procuracy accepted 78,790 cases/161,004 defendants, the resolution rate reached 99.5% of the cases, an increase of 6.6%, timely prosecution reached 100%, prosecution of the correct crime reached 99.9%, exceeding 4.9% of the target assigned by the National Assembly.

The Supreme People's Procuracy's investigation agency resolved 91.8% of information about crimes (exceeding 1.8%); accepted 107 cases/269 defendants for investigation (an increase of 1.9% in the number of cases and 31.9% in the number of defendants); the rate of investigation and discovery of crimes reached 90.7% (exceeding 20.7%), very serious and especially serious crimes reached 96% (exceeding 6%); the rate of asset recovery in corruption cases reached 85.9% (exceeding 25.9%).
