VPUB – Dien Bien Phu Marathon 2024 – Returning to the Land of Chinese Cannon Fortress

Dienbien.gov.vn - The Dien Bien Phu Marathon 2024 is a practical activity to celebrate the Cherry Blossom - Dien Bien Phu event in 2024; Celebrating the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024); 115th anniversary of the founding of Dien Bien province (June 28, 1909 - June 28, 2024) and 75th anniversary of the founding of the Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee (October 10, 1949 - October 10, 2024).

The 42km race route at the Dien Bien Phu Marathon 2024.

The tournament will open at 9:00 a.m. on January 14, 2024 at 7/5 Square, Dien Bien Phu City; the competition venue is on the roads of Dien Bien Phu City and Dien Bien District with various distances of 42Km, 21Km, 10Km, 5Km. The tournament will be held in the form of individual competitions for Men and Women and ranked according to the order of the athletes' finishing points.

The awards will be officially announced by the Organizing Committee on the competition day and posted on the competition's fanpage. Athletes who win first, second, and third prizes in the individual male and female categories at each competition distance will receive souvenir flags, prizes, and gifts from sponsors, with the highest prize worth 10 million VND.

Through the race, athletes will have the opportunity to visit historical sites and scenic spots; experience the unique features of a cultural space imbued with national identity, and explore many majestic and poetic landscapes of the Northwest region.

The Dien Bien Phu Marathon 2024 aims to continue promoting the Campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho", improve the physical strength and stature of Vietnamese people, contribute to building and defending the Fatherland, promote and introduce the beauty of the land, people, culture, history, potentials, strengths, tourism products of Dien Bien Phu city and Dien Bien province to athletes participating in the race; bring the tourism image of Dien Bien Phu city, Dien Bien province closer to tourists.
