On May 10, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center reported on the simulated cannon shooting that "lost" to the audience at the Hue Flag Tower on the evening of May 3.

Accordingly, the center organized two cannon firings on Saturday evenings, April 26 and May 3. The first time left a bad impression because the firing was judged to be too short and the performance time was not really suitable. The second time resulted in a dangerous incident that affected the audience.

Viet Giang Company Limited is the unit responsible for technical matters.

The company explained that the incident occurred because the pyrotechnic effect did not meet technical requirements.

The reason is that we have not yet had time to carry out the plan to order the Z21 pyrotechnic material used to create the cannon effect.

The company's technical staff arbitrarily used some remaining old fire dragon pyrotechnic tubes (58 tubes) at the Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2023.

These pipes have been water-permeated, causing moisture and non-combustibility due to the installation time exposed to wind and rain and have expired, leading to poor quality.

At the same time, due to negligence in the installation, the fire direction was installed horizontally on the ground, causing the shooting effect to deviate towards the audience.

After the incident, Viet Giang Company Limited took responsibility and committed to only using Z21 pyrotechnic materials (no explosives) within their expiry date, ensuring compliance with technical standards and following proper installation procedures to avoid similar incidents in future performances.
