The case of unusual color change of vermicelli in Da Nang City: Testing vermicelli samples and raw rice samples

Samples of vermicelli that changed color at a resident's home in Da Nang City and vermicelli samples at the production facility along with raw rice were sent for testing to find the reason why the vermicelli turned pink.

On the morning of July 8, the People's Committee of Hoa Xuan Ward ( Da Nang City) sent samples of color-changing noodles for testing to find the cause after people reported abnormalities.

Previously, as Thanh Nien reported, on the morning of July 6, Ms. VTL (living on Cao Ba Dat Street, Hoa Xuan Ward) bought noodles at Hoa Chau market near her house for use during the day, but by the evening of the same day, she discovered that the noodles had turned pink.

Initial verification results of the working group of Hoa Xuan Ward People's Committee at Ms. L's house recorded the phenomenon of vermicelli changing color as reported.

Ms. L. bought vermicelli from a retailer in the area in front of the old Hoa Chau market. The vermicelli seller got the vermicelli from a vermicelli production facility in Hoa Xuan Ward, this facility produces about 200 - 300 kg of vermicelli per day, retailing to many small traders in the area.

Through document inspection, this vermicelli production facility has the required documents and food safety certification.

The Hoa Xuan Ward inspection team took samples of the remaining vermicelli at Ms. L's house, vermicelli samples and rice samples at the vermicelli production facility to send for testing to determine the cause.
