On October 16, regarding the clip recording a scene of a man dressed in militia uniform loudly yelling at a car driver who was stopping to pick up a patient in front of the gate of Ho Chi Minh City Eye Hospital, causing a stir in public opinion, a hospital representative said that the person in the clip was a member of the ward militia assigned to coordinate traffic order in the area in front of the hospital gate, not a hospital employee or security guard.
Previously, on October 15, a clip (about 23 seconds) appeared on social media (TikTok platform) recording a scene of a man dressed in a militia uniform loudly yelling at a car driver who was stopping to pick up an elderly patient in front of gate number 2 (Nguyen Thong street) of Ho Chi Minh City Eye Hospital.
Immediately after receiving the information, the hospital worked with local authorities and militia forces to review the coordination process, remind people about standard communication and behavior, and increase support for people when performing their duties.

According to the representative of the Eye Hospital, the gate area is located on Nguyen Thong Street (Xuan Hoa Ward), a small, narrow road with high traffic density and prone to congestion. When vehicles stop or park suddenly or improperly, traffic in this area is easily congested, affecting the entry and exit of ambulances and patients. Currently, the hospital's physical facilities are limited, the campus area is small compared to the large number of patients coming for examination and treatment every day. So it is not possible to arrange taxis or private cars to regularly go inside.
In the coming time, Ho Chi Minh City Eye Hospital will coordinate with relevant agencies to arrange additional signs to guide vehicles to pick up and drop off patients at appropriate locations, ensuring traffic safety and security at the hospital gates. Propose that local authorities consider allowing the construction of "parking bays" on both sides of the gate to create suitable locations to pick up and drop off patients without affecting the main traffic axis. Increase support staff and security guards to guide and assist patients in moving and picking up and dropping off patients at the hospital gate area.
In addition, regular coordination with the ward police and militia forces to unify communication and proper behavior, avoiding misunderstandings or unnecessary frustration. In addition, according to the proposal of the Department of Finance, the Department of Health and the People's Committee of Xuan Hoa Ward , the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City is considering allocating additional land near the hospital to reduce some of the current pressure.
