At the end of March 19, confirming with VietNamNet, Mr. PHA (residing in Ha Long City, Quang Ninh ) said that he and his lawyer worked directly with senior leaders of Eximbank.
According to Mr. HA, his current representative lawyer will be the one to provide information after being authorized.
Sharing with reporters, lawyer Ta Anh Tuan (Director of Emmelaw LLC - Hanoi Bar Association) who is protecting the legal rights of Mr. HA said that at the meeting that took place today (March 19), the two sides had a frank and serious discussion. The customer and the bank listened and shared the entire content of the incident.
"Both sides wish and agree to coordinate to resolve the case, ensuring the rights of both sides in the soonest time," the lawyer informed.
As reported by VietNamNet, Mr. PHA in Quang Ninh is said to have incurred a credit card debt of VND 8,554,625 from two Eximbank Master Card transactions in 2013. Since then, Mr. PHA has never paid the principal or interest to Eximbank.
As of October 31, 2023, according to Eximbank's debt reminder notice, the total amount Mr. PHA owes at this bank is VND 8,838,869,549, of which the principal is VND 8,554,625 and the interest is VND 8,830,314,924.
Mr. HA said that he did not borrow the credit amount of 8.5 million VND from Eximbank Quang Ninh Branch.
According to Mr. HA, in 2012, through a friend, he asked a male employee (unknown identity) of Eximbank Quang Ninh Branch to make a credit card. At this time, the male bank employee asked Mr. HA to sign the card opening contract and receive the card in advance.
After that, this guy gave Mr. HA a regular card with the reason that his credit card was having problems. Because he thought he couldn't do it, Mr. HA didn't pay attention to it anymore. In 2016, Mr. HA wanted to borrow money from the bank but was informed that he had bad debt at Eximbank Quang Ninh Branch.
Previously, on March 15, Director of the State Bank of Vietnam, Quang Ninh Branch, Nguyen Duc Hien, said that he had sent a document requesting the local Eximbank branch to report the incident in writing.
