Thanh Ha commune is a disadvantaged locality of Thanh Chuong district. The commune started from a low base, so when the Party Committee proposed the policy of bringing the commune to the new rural finish line by 2024, many cadres, party members and people were skeptical and doubtful.
Mr. Nguyen Sy Hong - Head of Village 3, Thanh Ha Commune shared: “The most difficult thing is that the people's economy is not equal; when building roads, there are many routes where the number of households living is far apart, which means the contribution level is high. But with the determination of the entire political system, many conferences and meetings are continuously organized, from the Party cell, to the village, hamlet, self-management groups, wherever there are difficulties and problems, there are cadres and civil servants of the commune to join in. From there, people's thoughts are "cleared", wherever the road is built, people contribute money, donate land, and clear the land themselves. Households with economic conditions contribute more to "bear" for households in difficulty.
With the determination of the political system; the Party Committee has held meetings up and down many times, from the Party cell, to the villages, hamlets, and self-management groups. Wherever there are difficulties and problems, the communal cadres and civil servants have joined in, thus creating the new rural achievements of today.

It is known that to build new rural areas in Thanh Ha commune, households contribute at least 20 million VND and the highest is over 80 million VND. Typically, 5 households in Con Den residential area, in addition to contributing according to the general standard of the village, the households have discussed and contributed 60 - 80 million VND each to build concrete roads in front of their houses.
Mr. Nguyen Van Sinh's family sold a buffalo, borrowed money from relatives and children, and contributed 80 million VND to build a road, plus more than 27 million VND to pour concrete from the village road to the house. Mr. Tran Van Duan's family in village 2, although poor, also sold a calf for more than 10 million VND to contribute to building a road...
Acknowledging the movement of building new rural areas in Thanh Ha commune, comrade Trinh Van Nha - Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Chuong district said: "That is the people's heart and strength promoted with the companionship and contribution of children far from home. Without the will to overcome difficulties, self-reliance and self-reliance of the people, there would be no asphalt, concrete, and mixed-grade roads; there would be no synchronous investment in cultural, sports , and entertainment facilities and institutions from the commune to the villages; there would be no beautified rural areas; awareness of environmental protection: green - clean - beautiful among the people would also be raised".

Along with the people's strength, the success in building new rural areas in Thanh Ha commune has the accompaniment and active support from the district. Comrade Dang Huu Bien - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Ha commune said: From the leaders of the district and each department, office, and branch at the district level, they have directly surveyed the current situation, oriented, guided the way of doing, and created favorable conditions in terms of resources for the locality to complete each content and criterion.
The district prioritizes the allocation and support of additional cement sources outside the province's policy, while at the same time, arranging key investment budget sources, creating a "push" for the locality, especially, arousing the awareness and responsibility of cadres, party members and people in building new rural areas through investing in upgrading school facilities and asphalting some main roads of the commune. Thanks to that, currently 2/3 of schools have met national standards; the commune has met the national criteria on health and cultural institutions of the commune; 5/5 villages have met the standards according to new rural criteria.
In 4 years (2021 - 2024), thanks to the drastic construction of new rural areas, Thanh Ha commune has achieved the standard of 85/91.5 km of roads; including asphalt and concrete roads; the rest are graded with the intra-field traffic system.
The total resources mobilized for new rural construction in the 4 years (2021 - 2024) of the locality reached more than 69 billion VND, of which people and children far from home contributed 8.4 billion VND, equivalent to 12.16%. Particularly, the construction of roads cost more than 35.7 billion VND, of which people contributed 6.8 billion VND, equivalent to 25.8%.
In the construction of new rural areas, no organization, agency, unit, and no cadre or civil servant of Thanh Ha commune stands outside. Each comrade in the Standing Committee and the Party Executive Committee of the commune is assigned and responsible for directing each cluster and each village, each specific criterion; each cadre and civil servant is in charge of each content, criterion and village area for direction.
In the construction of new rural areas in Thanh Ha commune, no organization, agency or individual stands aside, creating an extremely important solidarity and combined strength.

The commune focuses on propaganda work, raising awareness among cadres and people. The Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations are responsible for each specific content and task; from propaganda, mobilizing people to "join hands to build new rural areas", taking care of social security work, poverty reduction; upgrading and renovating cultural houses in beautiful villages; building "clean houses, beautiful gardens", green tree roads, flower roads, lighting lines, environmental sanitation; building model farmer gardens, new rural standard gardens, economic models.
Each village in the commune specifies each task for each self-management group, promoting the people's ownership according to the motto "people know, people discuss, people do, people inspect, people enjoy", creating consensus among the people and children far from home...
Care to improve people's lives
Thanh Ha commune today, the traffic routes have been upgraded to prevent flooding and widened 5 - 8m, poured with asphalt, concrete or aggregate. Educational, medical, cultural, sports facilities, lighting systems and residential housing have been invested in. The material and spiritual life of the people has been significantly improved.
Many people in Thanh Ha commune have left the “bamboo fence” to participate in the domestic and foreign labor market; as skilled workers in factories, plants, and enterprises in and outside the province. Thanh Ha commune currently has 385 people working abroad. In particular, in the area there are 5 tea and wood processing factories creating jobs for many workers.
Farmers in their hometown are also actively changing their thinking, thinking, and working methods; dynamically shifting to combine agriculture with business and services. The commune has 107 households implementing business models, sawmilling, carpentry, transportation, agricultural services, etc.

In agricultural production, farmers have boldly expanded the scale of raising goats, pigs, and commercial chickens, replacing the previous self-sufficiency model. They have promoted the renovation of mixed gardens, planting fruit trees such as grapefruit, orange, guava, jackfruit, etc. Farmers in Thanh Ha commune have also boldly transformed the structure of rice varieties with high productivity and commodity value; built a number of new economic models such as: planting green squash; building and developing 5 farm and family farm models.
In particular, the locality has successfully restored the cultivation of the high-value Tho Hao ginseng variety, with a total area of more than 2 hectares and is continuing to expand. Thanks to the dynamism in production and economic development of the people, the income in the area has now improved, reaching an average of more than 50 million VND/person/year.
The economy is stable, the spiritual life of the people of Thanh Ha commune is also taken care of. People live in an environment that ensures comprehensive development. And not only do people benefit directly from the results of new rural construction, but each cadre and civil servant in the political system also becomes more mature.

Currently, according to the orientation of continuing to arrange and merge communes, Thanh Ha commune is expected to merge with Thanh Thuy and Kim Bang communes.
