Y Ty commune rebuilds Sim San temporary bridge to serve people's travel

This afternoon (July 7), the Y Ty commune government completed the construction and put into use the Sim San temporary bridge to serve the travel of people in the three villages of Sim San 1, Sim San 2 and Hong Ngai.

As Lao Cai Newspaper reported, on May 23, heavy rain caused floods to flow into Sim San stream, passing through Y Ty commune, washing away Sim San temporary bridge and causing landslides in many rural traffic routes, cutting off traffic from the commune center to 3 villages Sim San 1, Sim San 2, Hong Ngai.

Immediately afterwards, local authorities mobilized resources to carry out remedial work.

Accordingly, the Commune People's Committee invested 160 million VND (source for storm and flood prevention) and mobilized local people to contribute 30 million VND to rebuild the Sim San temporary bridge.

Sim San temporary bridge has 4 steel beams, 30m long, 1.2m wide to ensure people and motorbikes can pass.

The new Sim San temporary bridge was built 50m upstream from the old bridge, where there is a solid rock bank and is higher than the stream flow to avoid being swept away by floodwaters.

However, according to Mr. To Van Thanh, Secretary of the Commune Party Committee, "To ensure convenient and safe travel for the people of the three villages of Sim San 1, Sim San 2, and Hong Ngai, and to serve socio -economic development, national defense and security, the commune proposes that the province pay attention to investing in building a solid concrete bridge and upgrading the road from the commune center to Hong Ngai village."
