TPO - After a day off from school to go to the hospital for a health check because he was forced to eat dirt by his classmates, male student Vo Hai D. is now in stable condition and has returned to school. The police are investigating the case to handle those involved.

On October 23, the Department of Education and Training of Nam Dan district ( Nghe An ) said that this unit had an initial report related to the incident in which a male 9th grade student at Anh Xuan Secondary School was forced by a classmate to eat dirt and then filmed a clip, causing public outrage.

Specifically, before that, Vo Hai D. (a 9C student at Anh Xuan Secondary School) had a conflict with Nguyen Van Th. (a 9E student). At around 9:00 p.m. on October 19, Th. was with Pham Thien N. (an 11th grade student) in a field in Nam Anh Commune (Nam Dan District) when he met Vo Hai D.

Here, Th. and Nh. forced D. to dig up dirt to eat. In addition, D. was forced to smoke two cigarettes and was forced to swallow the smoke without exhaling. While Nh. threatened D. with words, Th. used his phone to record a video . Th. then sent the video to his classmates and spread it on social media.

After discovering a video on social media involving students of the school, the Board of Directors of Anh Xuan Secondary School investigated the incident and reported it to the District Department of Education and Training and local authorities.

The Nam Dan District Education Department then coordinated with the District Police and directed the Commune Police and the school to investigate and clarify the incident.

Mr. Nguyen Thuc Quang - Chairman of Nam Anh Commune People's Committee (Nam Dan District, Nghe An) said that the initial cause was determined to be a conflict between the children over a phone. However, to have accurate information, the police are investigating to clarify and have a direction to handle the people involved.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Hoan - Chief of Office of Nghe An Department of Education and Training said that the Department has requested the Department of Education and Training of Nam Dan district to coordinate with the authorities to verify the content of the incident. According to Mr. Hoan, although the incident happened outside the school, the students must be educated to know that their actions are against the law. "The Department has assigned the Department of Education and Training of Nam Dan district to strengthen propaganda work, direct schools to coordinate with local authorities and families to grasp the psychology and manage students during the time they are not at school," Mr. Hoan said.
