Building a team of cadres with steadfast character to protect the Party's ideological foundation
According to Mr. Vu Van Tien, Head of the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, at this time, protecting the Party's ideological foundation is extremely difficult. With bad and toxic information on social networks, although knowing that it is bad and toxic and half-believing, many Party members are interested and many people share it on social networking platforms.

Mr. Tien said: "There are Facebook accounts and fanpages that regularly mention information from the left, information sources from overseas. While the official news of the media agencies moves slowly like stairs, while the news of hostile forces at home and abroad moves as fast as an elevator, how can we catch up? While we have not yet built a team of people who work to protect the Party's ideological foundation in a truly professional and courageous manner."
In the action program to implement the congress resolution, Mr. Vu Van Tien suggested: "It is necessary to add a specific item to build a team of cadres to protect the Party's ideological foundation, professional, qualified, and with steadfast character. In protecting the Party's ideological foundation today, especially the Central level, cadres like this are needed."
Concerned about the pressing issues of those who protect the Party's ideological foundation, Mr. Tien expressed: "Every party member must have his own opinions, views, viewpoints, and courage on daily issues that occur on social networks. If we remain silent, compromise, and agree with information from hostile forces, we will lose the battle right from the first round. Every party member must have the courage to suppress anti-Party and anti-State opinions right on cyberspace, in their agencies and in each unit."
Putting Party work in a worthy position
In the context of strong digital transformation, according to journalist Nguyen Ngoc Toan, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, Party Secretary, Editor-in-Chief of Thanh Nien Newspaper , developing a team of young party members, people with a good grasp of technology, in press agencies is an urgent requirement to ensure the inheritance and promotion of the Party's leadership role.

Journalist Nguyen Ngoc Toan affirmed that the press system of the Fatherland Front and mass organizations is a powerful force, holding an important position in Vietnam's revolutionary press. However, he said that the Party building work in these agencies, although receiving attention, is still "not really worthy".
Sharing international experience from a recent working trip to China, the Editor-in-Chief of Thanh Nien Newspaper said that major press agencies in this country pay special attention to the comprehensive leadership role of the Party and the young Party members.
"The Party Secretary is the highest leader, then comes the editor-in-chief. They consider young party members as "red seeds", people who have a firm grasp of technology and are the backbone for developing the party in the future," journalist Nguyen Ngoc Toan informed, adding that at Thanh Nien China Newspaper, young party members account for 50%.
From international practice and experience, the Editor-in-Chief of Thanh Nien Newspaper suggested that it is necessary to add a core content to the Party Committee's orientation and tasks: focusing on developing young party members. "In addition to the work of Party building and leading socio-political organizations, it is necessary to emphasize the task of developing young party members in press agencies under the Vietnam Fatherland Front and central mass organizations," said journalist Nguyen Ngoc Toan.
Ideological orientation for the team of journalists
Commenting on the draft documents of the Congress of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations, delegate Tran Thai Son, Director of the Vietnam Journalists Association Electronic Information Portal, suggested adding more in-depth information on the Party Committee's initiative and innovation in leading and directing the activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations in the context of new challenges such as epidemics, climate change, and toxic information on social networks. Adding an assessment of the specific effectiveness of this work in raising political awareness and strengthening the trust of cadres, party members, union members, and association members in the Party's leadership and the country's innovation. It is possible to cite specific activities that the Party Committee has directed to fight and refute erroneous and hostile viewpoints and protect the Party's ideological foundation.

For the Vietnam Journalists Association, political and ideological work plays a particularly important role in orienting the thinking of journalists and fighting against false information. "We propose to add more comments on the guiding role of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Central mass organizations for the press and publishing agencies under the Vietnam Fatherland Front in orienting the professional and technical activities of the Association, improving the quality of journalism. In addition, promoting the role of journalists in the fight against corruption and negativity, protecting the right, transmitting official information, contributing to creating social consensus," Mr. Son emphasized.
Regarding mass mobilization work and leadership of socio-political organizations, Mr. Son suggested adding a deeper assessment of the innovation in the Party's leadership method towards mass organizations. In particular, clarifying how the Party has directed mass organizations to promote their representative role, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members in the context of many socio -economic fluctuations.
