Spread love to disadvantaged children
The City Youth Union at all levels is making efforts to implement many programs aimed at children, especially in the summer of 2025. Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union, Chairwoman of the City Youth Union Council Nguyen Thi Anh Thao said that the City Youth Union organizes training courses on mental health care skills for staff in charge of children in Hoa Vang district and for children at HOPE Centers, shelters, and schools. The training content focuses on identifying common psychological manifestations in children and adolescents, equipping them with skills to approach and support psychological problems, as well as communication skills with children with psychological impacts.
In addition, children are taught skills to cope with psychological stress, participate in free swimming classes and life skills programs. The Youth Union also organizes online competitions and initiates children's trends on social networks to enhance digital transformation applications, creating a rich summer activity space for children in the city.
Recently, the City Charity and Children's Rights Protection Association coordinated with the City Youth Union to organize a children's festival program with the theme "For the smiles of children", for children in special circumstances. Here, 100 students in special circumstances received scholarships of 1 million VND/child; 20 orphans continued to receive support from the "Godmother" program with a total budget of 60 million VND. 270 gifts were given to children in difficult circumstances. In addition, the program "One loving address each month" provides long-term support for 2 children with a total budget of more than 25 million VND in the 2024 - 2025 school year.
Vice President of the City Charity and Children's Rights Protection Association Doan Ngoc Son said that in 2024 and the first 6 months of 2025, the association at all levels received, monitored and supported 24 cases related to violations of children's rights. After receiving the information, the association's staff verified, provided psychological counseling, provided relief support and coordinated with relevant agencies to handle the matter according to regulations.
In addition, the association coordinates with units to strengthen propaganda and provide guidance on drowning prevention skills during the summer; implement programs such as "Shelter of Humanity" to build and repair houses for poor households with children, and maintain sponsorship relationships with non- governmental organizations to implement long-term child support projects.
Specialized investment in pediatric medicine
Taking care of children's health is a task that the city gives special priority to. At the Da Nang Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital, a team of specialized doctors are being trained thoroughly and constantly improving their skills. According to Dr. Tran Dinh Vinh, Director of the hospital, the City People's Committee supports specialized training in cardiovascular intervention, pediatric surgery, and neonatal resuscitation at major domestic and international centers such as Hanoi , Ho Chi Minh City, the US, and Australia. The technical infrastructure is invested synchronously.
Advanced machinery systems such as digital X-ray, 4D echocardiography, ECMO machine, HFO high-frequency ventilation... help improve the quality of treatment for critically ill children. The hospital improves the examination and treatment process: guides registration for examination via VNeID, provides online queue numbers, publicizes channels for receiving feedback via website, fanpage, hotline... In particular, every year, the hospital organizes professional competitions for doctors, nurses, and caregivers; at the same time, regularly inspects and summarizes administrative reform work to improve service quality. These are important steps in the goal of building a high-quality pediatric hospital in the Central Highlands region.
In the field of scientific research, in 2024 the hospital will implement many practical topics. These include a survey of essential newborn care practices in the first 24 hours after premature birth; research on the characteristics and effectiveness of neonatal sepsis treatment in the Neonatal Department; clinical analysis of cases transferred from local areas to the hospital... The topics contribute to improving treatment methods, increasing recovery rates and reducing mortality rates in newborns. Dr. Tran Dinh Vinh affirmed: "Investing in pediatrics is not only about taking care of the present, but also a sustainable strategy for the future. Every healthy child will be a future citizen who is useful to the country."
The 2025 Children's Action Month is an opportunity to remind all levels, sectors and the whole society to join hands to preserve children's smiles, so that every child can live in love, grow up in opportunities and mature with a bright future. A series of programs and policies are contributing to creating a healthy living, learning and playing environment for children in the city. From taking care of mental and physical health, ensuring education and social rights, all efforts converge on one common point: children are given priority in the true sense.
