Building a teaching plan for English and computer science at primary level

On August 17, the People's Committee of Song Ma district held a meeting to discuss the plan to organize teaching of English and Informatics at primary school level in the 2023-2024 school year.

In the 2023-2024 school year, the district has 22 primary schools with 116 locations and 8,277 students. Of which, 94 locations have 3rd grade students and 93 locations have 4th grade students. To ensure the conditions for organizing English and IT teaching for 3rd and 4th grade students according to regulations, the district prepares conditions for facilities and teaching equipment; reviews the team of English and IT teachers at schools; develops plans for mobilization and secondment between schools, overcoming the situation of local surplus and shortage of teachers. Develop a plan to recruit IT and English teachers in 2023-2024 according to the provincial payroll to supplement schools. Currently, the district has 52 English teachers, 37 IT teachers at 2 levels and 31 teachers with training certificates for teaching IT and Technology. Through review, there is still a shortage of 40 English teachers and 10 IT teachers for grades 3 and 4.

The district has agreed to direct schools with English teachers to teach in person and combine online teaching to ensure 4 periods/week; schools without English teachers will be assigned additional tasks or seconded to English teachers from other schools to teach in person and combine online teaching. Regarding Information Technology, schools with teachers will organize direct teaching and combine online teaching; schools without teachers will assign teachers with training certificates to teach Information Technology and Technology for grades 3 and 4. During the implementation process, if there are difficulties, schools will develop reasonable and appropriate adjustment plans.
