The following is a ranking of the 63 former provinces and cities based on the 2025 high school graduation exam scores for subject group D01:

In 2024, Vinh Phuc (formerly) ranked first nationwide in average score for the D01 subject group with 21.690.

Second place goes to the former Binh Duong province with 21,542 points. The former Nam Dinh province ranks third with 21,538 points. Fourth place is the former Ninh Binh province with 21,452 points. The former Bac Ninh province ranks fifth with an average score of 21,282 points.

For the first time in the ranking of average scores across the 5 most popular subject groups, Hanoi entered the top 10, ranking 7th with an average score of 21.154.

The remaining localities in the top 10 include: Hai Phong, Ha Nam, Ba Ria - Vung Tau (formerly), and Ha Tinh.

Ho Chi Minh City (formerly) ranked 11th with an average score of 20,581.

Meanwhile, at the bottom of the ranking of 63 provinces and cities according to the average score of the D01 group is Ha Giang (formerly) with an average score of 14.656 - this is also the only locality with an average score below 15.

The six localities at the bottom of the list are: Bac Kan, Lai Chau, Son La, Dien Bien, Cao Bang, and Ha Giang (formerly).
