MediaTek T90 is Xiaomi's first custom 3nm 5G modem

The Weibo account owner's previous predictions show that he has close ties to the semiconductor industry, meaning he is likely to have received information that Xiaomi's custom 3nm chip will be equipped with a MediaTek T90 5G modem.

What does Xiaomi expect from the T90 modem from MediaTek?

The question is that when we searched for information about the T90 modem on MediaTek's website, we couldn't find any information about it. This suggests that the T90 modem could be an unreleased MediaTek product. Xiaomi may be looking to enhance the SoC's wireless capabilities to compete with Qualcomm's Snapdragon X80 5G modem.

MediaTek has made significant strides in the chip industry, notably with the release of the Dimensity 9400, the first chip mass-produced on TSMC's second-generation 3nm process. If MediaTek supplies Xiaomi with the T90 modem, the company will be able to take advantage of TSMC's advanced lithography technology.
