As one of the first model new rural residential areas in Xuan Loc, Yen Binh village is known as a prosperous countryside with a thriving system of model gardens. Through the effective exploitation of garden resources , many households in the village have achieved stable incomes of 150-200 million VND per year, gradually becoming wealthy right on their homeland. As a result, the material and spiritual lives of the villagers have continuously improved, with spacious houses and clean, beautiful village roads and alleys.

The model gardens in Yen Binh not only create sustainable livelihoods and contribute to effective poverty reduction, but also bring about a transformation in the appearance of the new rural areas.

Mr. Nguyen Van Nam, Secretary of the Yen Binh Village Party Branch, stated: “We recognize that the people are both the subjects and the direct beneficiaries in the construction of new rural areas. Therefore, all policies are discussed democratically, creating high consensus. As a result, infrastructure has been invested in comprehensively, movements to build model gardens and beautiful gardens have developed, incomes have improved significantly, and the spiritual lives of the people have become increasingly rich. This is the driving force for Yen Binh to continue consolidating and improving the criteria for model new rural areas.”

By leveraging local resources and mobilizing the people's strength to improve their lives, Phuc Son village has become one of the most livable rural areas in Xuan Loc commune. Infrastructure has been invested in comprehensively and modernly; a civilized and cultured way of life is preserved; and community bonds are increasingly strengthened, creating a solid foundation for the sustainable development of the locality.

The model garden economy provides a significant income for the local people.

A highlight of the new rural landscape in Phuc Son is the shift in people's production and business mindset – a key factor in achieving fundamental and long-term poverty reduction. Instead of waiting and relying on others, people have proactively approached suitable livelihood models and boldly invested in economic development right on their homeland. Through neighborhood groups and self-governing organizations, the spirit of mutual support and compassion within the community has been strongly promoted. Households with better resources provide seedlings, livestock, and labor to those in need, and social resources are mobilized to promptly assist vulnerable groups. In addition, many households have access to preferential loans and participate in training courses on scientific and technical transfer, gradually stabilizing and improving their lives.

To date, the community organizations in Phuc Son village are managing nearly 5 billion VND in capital from banks and other funds, creating favorable conditions for people to invest in production development and increase their income. Thanks to the collective efforts of the entire community, the lives of the people are increasingly improving. The village currently has 248 households, but only 1 poor household and 5 near-poor households remain; the average income reaches 60 million VND/person/year, higher than the average of the commune.

Sharing about the changes in her family, Ms. Tran Thi Que (Phuc Son village) said : “With livelihood support in the form of breeding stock and guidance on livestock farming techniques, my family feels secure investing in production. Thanks to following the correct procedures and having a stable market, our income has gradually improved, and life is less difficult than before . ”

Not only Ms. Que's family, but many households in Phuc Son village have also seen significant changes in their livelihoods thanks to support from suitable livestock and production models. The focus on providing people with sustainable "fishing rods" through support with breeding stock, technical training, guidance on safe production processes, and continuous support throughout the implementation process has yielded practical results. This coordinated and dedicated effort has created more confidence and motivation for people to invest boldly, confidently develop their economy, and gradually achieve a stable life.

With the consensus of the Party and the people, the National Target Program for Building New Rural Areas in Xuan Loc commune has created significant transformations in many areas. Hundreds of billions of dong in socialized capital, from the efforts and money of the people, along with funds from programs and projects, have been effectively mobilized, contributing to the increasingly vibrant picture of the new rural area. The movement to build model new rural residential areas and model gardens has been promoted with impressive results. To date, the entire commune has 25 out of 29 model residential areas, and 5 local OCOP products have achieved 3-star standard, contributing to enhancing the economic value and promoting the brand of Xuan Loc specialties.

Mr. Tran Dinh Viet , Chairman of the People's Committee of Xuan Loc commune, said : "Building new rural areas in Xuan Loc is not just about improving infrastructure, but more importantly, about sustainably improving the material and spiritual lives of the people. We pay special attention to supporting economic development and sustainable poverty reduction through livelihood models suitable to local conditions."
