On January 18, the Vietnamese Embassy in Kazakhstan organized the Homeland Spring - Lunar New Year 2025 program with the participation of a large number of overseas Vietnamese, international students, and officials and employees of Vietnamese representative agencies living, working and studying in the capital Astana, Kazakhstan.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ambassador Pham Thai Nhu Mai commented that “2024 is an emotional year” with Vietnam-Kazakhstan trade turnover reaching nearly 1 billion USD, a boom in tourism from all Central Asian countries to Vietnam with more than 20 flights/week and investments from large corporations such as Sovico, Maraven Food… with positive records in the Kazakhstan market.
Sharing Vietnam's foreign affairs achievements in 2024, the Ambassador expressed his sincere thanks for the support and significant contributions of the Vietnamese community in Kazakhstan through donation programs to support compatriots affected by Typhoon Yagi , support for Vietnamese investment projects in Kazakhstan, support for domestic delegations, consular work, protection of Vietnamese citizens, etc.

The Ambassador congratulated the Vietnamese community in Kazakhstan on its gradual expansion with the participation of international students and officials of Vietnamese and international businesses working here.
The year 2025 was kicked off with the National Conference on Breakthroughs in Science , Technology, Innovation and National Digital Transformation, and is also a year with many major holidays: the 80th anniversary of the founding of the country, the 50th anniversary of national reunification, and the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday.
The Ambassador hopes that Vietnamese intellectuals in the Association of Vietnamese Intellectuals in Kazakhstan will have specific programs and projects, many creative ideas contributing to the overall development of the country; the Vietnamese community in Kazakhstan will promote solidarity, actively participate, and join the flow of the "era of national advancement".

Representative of the Vietnamese Association in Kazakhstan, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Phuc shared that although the community is not large and lives scattered in many different cities across the country, it always promotes the tradition of patriotism and solidarity.
Mr. Phuc also said that in 2025, the Vietnamese Association in Kazakhstan will strengthen its personnel, rejuvenate the Executive Committee members, and strengthen local relations with the Embassy to make practical contributions to the relationship and enhance Vietnam's reputation.

The event took place in a warm atmosphere, guests enjoyed many traditional national dishes such as banh chung, bun ca, nem ran.
Children participated in fun folk games and received souvenirs with wishes for a prosperous and peaceful New Year of the Snake for the overseas Vietnamese community in Kazakhstan.
