“Currently, Xuan Son is at home practicing recovery. The possibility of him returning to the field in the first leg of V.League 2025/26 is very difficult. We hope Xuan Son can return in the second leg,” coach Vu Hong Viet shared about striker Nguyen Xuan Son’s injury.

On the afternoon of August 5, Coach Vu Hong Viet and striker Nguyen Van Toan attended the press conference of the 2025/26 National Super Cup. In response to fans' concerns about striker Nguyen Xuan Son, Coach Vu Hong Viet said that Xuan Son is in the process of rehabilitation training and does not know exactly when he will return to the field.

Sharing about the preparation for the new season as well as the upcoming National Super Cup match, coach Vu Hong Viet said that Nam Dinh has had two training sessions, including a friendly match in Korea. "I appreciate the spirit of the whole team. The players are all focused and working hard towards the new season, especially the upcoming Super Cup match," he said.

When asked about the goal in the Super Cup match, coach Vu Hong Viet emphasized: “The ball has not rolled yet, so we cannot say anything in advance. This is an important match, opening the new season. I think both teams are determined to win. We have great desire, especially when playing at home.”

When asked about competition in the squad, especially when Nam Dinh added many foreign players to the attack, striker Nguyen Van Toan shared: “A competitive environment is a good thing. When there are quality players, domestic players have to try harder. Everyone has to make an effort to have a chance to play. We are all ready, and the goal is to win every title.”

The 2025 National Super Cup will take place on August 9 at Thien Truong Stadium. The home team Nam Dinh affirmed their strength when they won the V.League with 57 points, 8 points more than the second-placed team. Meanwhile, CAHN made a strong impression in the National Cup with a series of convincing victories, ending with a 5-0 victory over SLNA in the final.

The local organizing committee will issue tickets in four denominations: 20,000, 40,000, 60,000 and 80,000 VND. The match will apply VAR technology, with the referee team being among the best of the last season.
