Super luxury Yangwang U8L only 3.8 billion, "demanding to compete" with Rolls-Royce Cullinan

This is the extended version of the U8 Luxury Edition, positioned in the large luxury SUV segment for customers who prioritize space, comfort and superior class. The most notable upgrade of the super luxury Yangwang U8L 2025 lies in its size.

The new 2025 Yangwang U8L SUV has a wheelbase that has been extended by 200 mm to 3,250 mm, contributing to an overall length of 5,400 mm (an increase of 81 mm compared to the standard U8). The width and height are 2,049 mm and 1,921 mm, respectively.

With its outstanding length, the Yangwang U8L officially surpasses competitors such as the Range Rover and even the Rolls-Royce Cullinan in terms of size. Thanks to that, the car can arrange a spacious three-row interior with 6 seats, in which the third row promises to bring a comfortable experience rarely seen in the segment.

The Yangwang U8L retains the characteristic front-end design of the U8 series, inspired by the “Ding” – an ancient bronze cauldron symbolizing power in Chinese culture. However, the new version is enhanced with many luxurious details such as: two-tone paint “Obsidian Black / Sunstone Gold” and 24K gold-plated Yangwang logos on the front and rear.

This option can also be applied to the steering wheel emblem. The car is equipped with 23-inch alloy wheels with 8-hole design, which is not only aesthetic but also helps reduce wind resistance, improving operating performance. A significant difference of the U8L is that there is no external spare tire like the standard version.

Instead, the car has an electrically operated split tailgate. The upper door opens up neatly, suitable for narrow spaces, while the lower door when lowered can withstand a force of up to 200 kg - suitable for use as an outdoor seat for camping or sightseeing.

The distinctive split taillights are retained, while the rear bumper has been streamlined for added elegance. The Yangwang U8L continues to be developed on BYD's proprietary e⁴ platform with a four-motor, independent drive system that can precisely distribute torque to each wheel.

The DiSus-P intelligent hydraulic suspension system is also equipped, helping the vehicle maintain special capabilities such as: floating on water in emergency situations, moving with 3 wheels when 1 wheel is punctured, and even rotating 360 degrees in place like a tank.

Powering the Yangwang U8L is an extended-range electric drive (EREV) system, with a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine acting as a generator. Power is sent to four electric motors, giving a total output of 880 kW (equivalent to 1,180 horsepower) and a maximum torque of 1,280 Nm.

Yangwang U8L is equipped with the advanced driving assistance system “God's Eye A” (DiPilot 300) with 3 LiDAR sensors, supporting features such as highway and inner-city driving control (NOA), automatic parking, remote control and e⁴ parking system.

The Yangwang U8L is expected to officially go on sale in China this year. The price of the 2025 Yangwang U8L has not been announced yet, but it is likely to exceed the 1.1 million yuan (about 3.8 billion VND) of the current U8 version.
