French cosmetics company Yves Rocher has announced the gradual closure of all stores in Switzerland, Austria and Germany over the coming months. According to the plan, Yves Rocher will close about 140 stores in German-speaking countries, affecting 350 employees.
The company sent this notice to employees in mid-March. In the notice issued on August 4, Yves Rocher said: "With the current business model, Yves Rocher cannot maintain continuous and effective operations. Over the past two years, we have faced many economic challenges. Yves Rocher customers can still find products on the online store and can order through the system of e-commerce platforms."
Yves Rocher is the flagship brand of the French family-owned Rocher Group. Yves Rocher, a pioneer in natural cosmetics, employs more than 15,000 people worldwide and has annual sales of more than €2.3 billion (over $2.5 billion). In March, Yves Rocher launched eco-friendly products. This month, Yves Rocher is expected to launch special editions of its best-selling fragrances, according to swissinfo.ch. The group also owns the Arbonne, Flormar, Sabon and Petit Bateau brands.
