Responding to the 3rd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2024, with the aim of spreading the habit of reading to students, promoting and developing a reading culture in schools, improving the quality of education... Zhishan Foundation donated 24 bookcases to kindergartens in Dakrong district and 28 bookcases to kindergartens in Gio Linh district.

Through the activity of donating books to kindergartens, Zhi Shan Foundation recommends and encourages schools to set up space and libraries at the preschool level according to Circular 16 of the Ministry of Education and Training.

On the occasion of receiving books, the leader of the Dakrong District Education Department shared: We are here at an event full of humanistic meaning: Giving bookshelves to kindergartens. Today's event is even more special as we are looking forward to Vietnam Book Day on April 21 and Lifelong Learning Week in 2024.

In the life of every person, books are a product of spiritual culture, a vast treasure of knowledge and a great teacher who lights up in us an endless source of knowledge. In any era, reading is still a source of energy that promotes sustainable development.

Head of Zhishan Foundation Taiwan Project Office, Mr. Hoang Trong Thuy said: We have recommended and encouraged schools to set up libraries at preschool level according to Circular 16 of the Ministry of Education and Training. Yesterday, we saw the products in some schools. Although there are still many shortages, this is a commendable and encouraging work. Zhi-shan will provide practical support for schools that take the initiative to build libraries.

Preschool children, although they cannot read yet, can still listen and understand the stories that the teacher reads and tells. They are very interested in the stories in books, can look at the pictures and narrate them, and can even imagine and create in a very cute way.

Zhishan Foundation Taiwan is a non-profit organization, established in 1995. The organization has been implementing many projects to support health and education for Vietnamese children, especially in 6 central provinces: Thua Thien Hue, Quang Tri, Quang Binh, Ha Tinh, Nghe An and Quang Ngai.

On September 8, the Zhi-Shan Foundation Project Office in Vietnam coordinated with the Quang Tri Provincial Children's Fund, the Department of Education and Training and kindergartens in Dakrong district, Quang Tri province to organize a ceremony to present boarding school fees and soy milk for the first semester of the 2022-2023 school year to more than 2,000 children in 8 kindergartens in Dakrong district with a value of nearly 1.2 billion VND.
