On April 28, Hue Central Hospital said that its doctors examined and screened for congenital heart disease for free for children under 18 years old in Quang Ngai province.
This is an activity within the framework of the program "Heart for Children" organized by Tam Long Viet Fund - Vietnam Television in coordination with Viettel Group.
The program was initiated in 2008 and is now in its 17th year with the mission of bringing a healthy heartbeat to children across the country.
The working group of Hue Central Hospital, including experienced doctors and nurses, directly examined and performed echocardiograms on 1,800 children throughout Quang Ngai province.
Through screening examinations, 48 cases of children with congenital heart disease requiring surgical intervention were identified and records were created to support the entire treatment costs, with a total estimated cost of more than 2 billion VND.
As one of the medical units actively accompanying the "Heart for Children" program for many years, Hue Central Hospital has continuously contributed to spreading love to poor children with congenital heart disease.
This is also the first time the "Heart for Children" program has been implemented in Quang Ngai, opening up opportunities for timely screening and treatment of congenital heart disease for children in difficult circumstances.
