Previously, in the first 24 hours, Bach Mai Hospital received a total of 26 patients, including the elderly and children. After being treated at the A9 Emergency Center, the patients were transferred to specialized units for treatment.

Many people were admitted to the hospital in a state of coma, convulsions, and severe shock; especially besides the shock of pain, there was also psychological shock, so not only the victims but also their relatives were panicking. Faced with this situation, the hospital sent an elite team to rescue the victims, both rescue and encourage them. By the next morning, all the victims were in stable condition and 4 were in critical condition.

From September 14 to September 22, the hospital received 5 more cases (most had symptoms of smoke inhalation, a few had symptoms of CO poisoning). Thus, Bach Mai Hospital received a total of 31 patients; of which, 1 severe case in intensive care, 1 case of heel injury, 19 cases with improvement needing further monitoring, 10 cases were stable and discharged from the hospital.

Among the remaining patients being monitored and treated at Bach Mai Hospital, the most serious is patient NVC (Border Guard Major). The patient is currently on a ventilator, his vital signs have not improved, and his consciousness is still hazy. Doctors are still trying to treat this patient.

With the female doctor of Bach Mai Hospital VTN, who was also a victim of the mini apartment fire, admitted to the hospital in critical condition, fortunately, up to this point, the patient has recovered and is communicating well. In addition, some patients continue to be monitored, treated with hyperbaric oxygen to prevent brain complications due to CO poisoning and receive psychological therapy.

Also on September 22, doctors and nurses at the hospital will perform surgery on a patient who was injured when he jumped from the 9th floor to the 6th floor of the building next door in the mini apartment fire and is currently being treated here. “The remaining patients will be discharged in the next few days. We are still worried about the only victim, a border guard who is still in serious condition, on a ventilator, and has not yet recovered from anesthesia. The family of this soldier all died in the fire, we are determined to save and completely overcome the consequences of gas poisoning for this patient. In the near future, we will work with domestic and foreign experts to find a solution to rescue this patient,” said Mr. Co.

Congratulating the patients on their discharge, Director Dao Xuan Co hopes that the patients will put aside their grief and take care of their health and that of their families. The hospital will continue to provide health and psychological support to the patients so that they can return to life soon.

At the ceremony to congratulate the discharged patients, Lawyer Nguyen Van Chien, Member of the 14th National Assembly , Director of Nguyen Chien Law Firm, and the volunteer group expressed their deep sympathy for the painful losses of the families and wished the relatives of the deceased victims to soon stabilize their psychology, overcome difficulties, and stabilize their lives. The volunteer group donated 47 million VND to 29 patients and 9 million VND to the Social Work Department and the hospital union, encouraging the staff.

Since the victims were admitted to the hospital, Bach Mai Hospital has welcomed 150 groups and individuals who came to visit, share, encourage and donate a total of over 4 billion VND to the patients who were victims of the fire and are being treated here. Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Vu Tri Dung - the oldest patient - was extremely moved, on behalf of the victims of the fire, he would like to thank the doctors and staff of Bach Mai Hospital for their wholehearted care and treatment of the patients; thank the Social Work Department for being a bridge to the philanthropists, departments and organizations who came here to meet, share, encourage and give their golden hearts to support the victims.

One of the patients discharged from the hospital, Vu Chi Dung, who lives with his daughter, a grade 11 student, decided to run to the rooftop after discovering the fire and stay there to wait for a chance to be rescued. Mr. Dung works as a technology driver, and his house and car were left in the fire. After being discharged from the hospital, he and his daughter temporarily stayed at a close friend's house. He only hopes that the government will support him with a place to live and transportation so that he and his daughter can get their lives back after the recent major incident.

Many people in the same situation as Mr. Dung will have to stay with relatives, and they have not thought about the future.
