10 artists exhibit nude art at 'The Nude 2'

Present at the art exhibition The Nude 2 (at Toong Cong Hoa, 18E Cong Hoa, Ward 4, Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City) very early, art researcher Ngo Kim Khoi carefully and enthusiastically looked at each work and he said he was very interested in the authors' creations.

The reunion of 10 artists: Do Thuy, Luong Thu Ha, Phung Huy, Tran Phuong Ly, Mai Huy Dung, Nguyen Minh Dong, Nguyen Minh Tu, Hoang Huong Giang, Nguyen Minh, Duong Tuan with 10 different personalities and ten perspectives due to the mixture of many generations of artists.

Present very early before the opening, art researcher Ngo Kim Khoi was absorbed in admiring each work.

Young audiences admire the works

Painter Do Thuy - former lecturer of the Faculty of Architecture (University of Architecture, Ho Chi Minh City) participating in this exhibition is a special case. He is an architect who loves to draw, especially nude paintings. "I always want to express the beauty of women in the true sense of the word beautiful. Proportions, colors, harmony, and even the mystery of imagination... are in some ways very close to architectural designs. My nude works are exploratory, experimental and innovative, I hope to have the opportunity to be introduced in a solo exhibition in the near future", painter Do Thuy sincerely shared with the press about his plans and dreams.

Painter Phung Huy (graduated from Hanoi University of Industrial Fine Arts) said: "Beauty has no age, whether it is appearance or soul, discovering it is very necessary." Luong Thu Ha (graduated from Vietnam University of Fine Arts) likes the transformation of curves on a woman's body through different stages of development in life.

Every woman has her own story.

Luong Thu Ha explained: "Because I am a woman, I want to honor the beauty of women. Behind that physical beauty is the expression of the beauty of the soul. Every woman has her own story with countless different emotions when going through the inevitable stages of development in life."

Painter Phung Huy confided: "The status of women from the past to the present is connected by an invisible thread. The fact that they shed a part of the past and change to better suit the new contemporary life has made women stronger. One day, women want to escape from the prejudices or shells that people put on their shoulders, or even those they put on their own shoulders. There are many things they want to confide, share, and sympathize with, but they don't know who to tell, where, and how... These things are deep down or right in front of them, or maybe in some "dreamland" that has not yet had a satisfactory answer."

That is why the paintings of artist Phung Huy are often thoughtful and filled with many feelings. Looking at his works, it seems that the beauty of women is not only in their physical appearance but also full of troubled and anxious souls.

Vietnamese-American artist Ly Tran (Tran Phuong Ly) shares many emotions. "Nude paintings are a favorite subject of mine. My nude paintings not only depict the soft beauty of a woman's body, I want to bring to viewers a sense of the flow of life, of love, of desire when removing layers of concealment. Each of my works is a story, a message," she confided.

Watching The Nude 2 by 10 artists recently launched in Ho Chi Minh City, researcher Ly Doi said: "Currently, nude paintings still depend a lot on the cultural, religious, moral concepts... of the community. In such a context, when I heard that The Nude 2 would present up to 50 nude paintings, I immediately went to see it." The exhibition will run from now until November 22, 2023.
