1. Choose an air conditioner with the right capacity
You need to calculate the air conditioner capacity suitable for the area of the room to choose the type with enough cooling capacity and save electricity during use. Too large capacity will cause waste and too small capacity will not ensure cooling capacity. Air conditioners with suitable capacity also help the machine operate more stably and durably.
2. Place the air conditioner in a suitable location
If possible, install the air conditioner's condenser in the middle of the room to ensure that the cold air is evenly distributed throughout the room. Avoid installing it in locations where it is easy to lose cold air, such as doors, windows or corners of the room.

The condenser should be covered and placed in a shady place, away from direct sunlight. The distance between the condenser and the evaporator should be at least 3 meters and at most 15 meters to allow for smooth gas circulation.
3. Make sure the room is sealed
When using the air conditioner, close the windows and doors to prevent cold air from escaping, otherwise the machine will have to work harder to maintain the set temperature. If your window is in the direction of sunlight, install curtains to limit the increase in room temperature.
4. Do not turn the air conditioner on and off continuously.
You should not turn off the machine when it feels cold enough and turn it back on when it feels hot again because this method causes the machine to restart at high capacity and cool down from the beginning, causing the machine to consume more electricity and easily reduce its lifespan.
Most air conditioners will operate at low power once the room has reached the set temperature, so you don't need to worry too much. If it feels too cold, turn the temperature up instead of turning it off and on again.
5. Turn off the air conditioner 30 minutes before going out.
30 minutes is enough time for you to still feel comfortable and the room temperature has not changed too much. Therefore, if you do not need to use it and are about to go out, turn off the air conditioner about 30 minutes before leaving to make the most of the remaining cold air in the room.
6. Set the appropriate air conditioning temperature
24 to 28 degrees Celsius is the appropriate temperature range for the air conditioner to operate stably, the body feels comfortable and is not too different from the outdoor temperature in Vietnam. You should set the air conditioner to a moderately cool level, not too cold because it will affect your health and make the machine consume more electricity.

7. Use sleep mode or set a timer to turn off your computer overnight
Most new generation air conditioners are equipped with a sleep mode that automatically adjusts the temperature at night when the outside temperature drops, ensuring users have a comfortable, pleasant sleep.
If your air conditioner does not have this feature, calculate and set a timer to turn it off at night to bring comfort during sleep and also help save electricity effectively.
8. Choose Inverter air conditioner
Inverter air conditioners use frequency conversion technology to help the machine operate more stably and save electricity more effectively. With Inverter air conditioners, when the cooling capacity is sufficient, the compressor will operate more slowly, both limiting energy waste and helping to maintain a more stable temperature.
If you need to use air conditioning a lot and have the conditions, choose to buy an Inverter air conditioner to save operating costs later.
9. Install the exhaust fan properly
If your room has an exhaust fan installed to increase air exchange for the room, remember to place the fan in a high position and not near the cooling unit to ensure that the fan does not suck the cold air out, causing the machine to increase its capacity, wasting more electricity because the cold air always sinks below. The best position to place the exhaust fan is high and opposite the cooling unit.
10. Regular air conditioning maintenance
Air conditioners that have been operating for a long time will accumulate a lot of dirt, and parts will need to be repaired or replaced. Regular cleaning and maintenance will help your air conditioner cool quickly, operate stably, last longer and save electricity.
