Hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City are treating 286 Covid-19 cases. Of these, 108 cases require respiratory support, 19 cases require invasive mechanical ventilation, 11 cases are children under 16 years old and 10 cases are pregnant women. There are 925 F0 cases in home isolation.
Since the beginning of the year, there have been 5 Covid-19 deaths in hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City (including 3 in the province). All were elderly and had many underlying diseases.
Cho Ray Hospital reported that since the beginning of the year, there have been 3 severe Covid-19 cases and deaths at this hospital.
Faced with the recent increase in Covid-19 cases, along with the emergence of new variants of the Omicron strain, Ho Chi Minh City has activated a campaign to protect people in risk groups.
Accordingly, Ho Chi Minh City will make a list of risk groups and provide additional Covid-19 vaccinations; monitor and detect early if this group of people contract Covid-19, and immediately treat them to limit deaths.
Regarding dengue fever, on May 20, Ho Chi Minh City detected 16 cases, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the year to 7,652.
Hospitals in the area are treating 91 cases of dengue fever (54 cases residing in Ho Chi Minh City). Of these, 38 are adults (1 is a pregnant woman), 53 are children. 2 are severe (according to the Ministry of Health 's definition of severe cases), 1 is on invasive ventilation and 1 is on dialysis.
