On March 10, 2025, within the framework of General Secretary To Lam's visit to Indonesia, the two countries issued a "Joint Statement on Strengthening Bilateral Relations between Indonesia and Vietnam". As of March 10, 2025, Vietnam has Comprehensive Strategic Partnership relations with 11 countries. These are: China (2008), the Russian Federation (2012), India (2016), South Korea (2022), the United States (9-2023), Japan (11-2023), Australia (3-2024), France (10-2024), Malaysia (11-2024) and New Zealand (2-2025) and Indonesia (10-3-2025).
