In the communes of Lãnh Ngọc, Thăng Phú, Sơn Cẩm Hà, and Hải Vân ward, local police, in coordination with military forces, militia, and local authorities, erected barricades and warning signs at deeply flooded areas, cleared fallen trees, unblocked drainage ditches, and guided people to move through safe areas. Many households in low-lying areas at risk of landslides were assisted in evacuating people and property, helping to minimize damage from prolonged heavy rain.

Last night and this morning (October 27), in the areas of Vu Gia, Thu Bon, and Thuong Duc communes, the water level continued to rise, causing localized flooding on many inter-commune roads and residential areas. Police forces organized rescue efforts throughout the night, assisting residents in moving their belongings and livestock to safe locations. They also erected warning signs and remained on standby at landslide-prone areas, ready to respond if the flood situation continues to worsen.
On the Ho Chi Minh Highway section through Lo Xo Pass, heavy rain caused serious landslides, resulting in a prolonged traffic jam involving hundreds of vehicles. Phuoc Nang commune police, in coordination with traffic police and militia forces, mobilized machinery to open a temporary road and guide vehicles safely. Notably, this morning, the commune police continued to distribute drinking water, food, instant noodles, and bread to drivers and residents stranded on the pass.

In Tra Leng commune, where heavy rains have cut off many villages, hundreds of residents – mostly the elderly, women, and children – have been urgently evacuated to safety with the assistance of the commune's police. In the cold, rainy night, officers and soldiers shared hot instant noodles and meals with the villagers, bringing warmth and reassurance amidst the disaster.

Even amidst rain, wind, or landslide-prone roads, police officers brave the elements, wearing life jackets, helping people cross floods, carrying buckets of water, and packets of instant noodles… Every action, however small, contributes to helping people overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives – a testament to the spirit of “When the people need us, when the people are in trouble, the police are there,” clearly demonstrating the courage, responsibility, and compassionate hearts of the officers in times of hardship.
