The Council held an opening meeting for the final round, listened to the report on the results of the preliminary round, discussed and evaluated the works for the final round, voted and considered the awarding of the 19th National Press Award - 2024. The Council members discussed thoroughly, impartially and judged 183 works for the final round with an objective and responsible spirit.
The final jury determined that the entries met the selection criteria stated in the Selection Guidelines of the Jury, comprehensively and deeply reflecting the political , economic, cultural, social, security, defense, and foreign affairs life of the country in 2024.
Comrade Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association , Chairman of the Final Jury, commented: Many works were invested seriously and elaborately, the content has the nature of discovering new issues, criticizing and building major policies and guidelines of the Party and State; proposing many solutions and good ways of doing things that have a widespread influence in society. Many works demonstrate professionalism, creativity, and application of modern journalism technology, attracting the attention of domestic and foreign readers.
Appreciating the innovation in the structure and improvement of the evaluation quality of the Preliminary Council, the Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association also said that the Council also raised a number of issues that need to be learned for the following seasons, especially the selection work at the grassroots level and the propaganda and promotion work for some types of awards.
"On this occasion, the Final Jury gave its opinions on a number of issues related to the organization of the Award. These opinions will be received and studied by the Standing Committee of the Award Council for supplementation and adjustment in the coming time," said comrade Le Quoc Minh.
As a result, among 183 works in the final round, the Council discussed, evaluated and voted to select 13 A prizes, 27 B prizes, 49 C prizes, and 36 Encouragement prizes to award the 19th National Press Awards - 2024.
The award ceremony will be solemnly held on the evening of June 21 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day./.
