3 Vietnamese stars only have 1 day off to play against MU

The three stars of the Vietnamese national team will only have one day to travel to Malaysia to join the ASEAN All Stars to prepare for the friendly match with MU, taking place on May 28. Midfielder Hoang Duc will join his teammates early on May 25. His team, Phu Dong Ninh Binh, has won the championship early and the coaching staff has created conditions for this midfielder to participate in this match.

The reason why the three Vietnamese players Duy Manh, Hai Long and Van Vi were late was due to a change after the schedule of round 24 of V.League 2024/25 was moved from May 24-25 to May 26-27.

Specifically, the match between Hanoi FC and Hanoi Police, Nam Dinh and Song Lam Nghe An will take place on May 26. Duy Manh, Hai Long (Hanoi FC) and Van Vi (Nam Dinh) will finish playing on May 26 and then leave for Malaysia on the morning of May 27.

The match between the ASEAN All-Stars and Manchester United is part of the Maybank Challenge Cup, which raises funds for the YASA charity in Malaysia. The event not only gives Southeast Asian players a chance to showcase their talents against one of the world’s top clubs, but also helps spread humanitarian values ​​through football.

The match will take place on 28 May 2025 at Bukit Jalil Stadium, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The ASEAN All-Stars squad will consist of top players selected from all 12 AFF Member Associations.

After finishing the friendly match with MU, the four players will return to Hanoi to join the Vietnamese team for the away match against Malaysia in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers on June 10.
