Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long has just signed a decision approving the Project "Training and fostering human resources to serve nuclear power development until 2035".
The goal of the Project is to meet the human resource needs for Ninh Thuan 1 and Ninh Thuan 2 nuclear power plants by 2030.
Specifically, Ninh Thuan 1 Nuclear Power Plant has a total of about 1,920 people, of which 1,020 have university degrees (engineers, bachelors) and 900 have college degrees. The number of university-educated workers newly trained abroad is 320 people.
Ninh Thuan 2 Nuclear Power Plant, total about 1,980 people, of which university and postgraduate level is 1,050 people, college level is 930 people. The number of human resources with university and postgraduate level newly trained abroad is 350 people.
Regarding training and updating knowledge for managers of Ninh Thuan 1 and Ninh Thuan 2 nuclear power plants, the Project strives to provide short-term training and internships in specialized skills on management and operation of nuclear power plants for cadres, civil servants, public employees, and experts currently managing in ministries, branches, and working in the nuclear power field at training and research institutions by 2030, with an estimated number of 700 people. Regarding the training of specialized lecturers to serve the training of human resources for the Ninh Thuan 1 and Ninh Thuan 2 nuclear power plants, the Project aims to train lecturers in nuclear power specialties to supplement the teaching human resources for training institutions assigned to train and foster human resources for the Ninh Thuan 1 and Ninh Thuan 2 nuclear power plants, about 120 people (80 masters, 40 doctors).
In the period 2031 - 2035, the Project strives to train and supplement human resources to meet the actual needs of nuclear power plants.
To achieve the above objectives, the Project sets out tasks and implementation solutions such as: Perfecting policy mechanisms; training human resources; investing in and strengthening facilities; fostering and building teams; updating, supplementing and perfecting training content and programs; and international cooperation.
Specifically, the Project on training and fostering domestic and foreign human resources to meet the needs of serving the Ninh Thuan 1 and Ninh Thuan 2 nuclear power plants, in which priority is given to selecting students who have graduated in the same major to be sent for training and fostering in the nuclear power major with a commitment to serving the Ninh Thuan 1 and Ninh Thuan 2 nuclear power plants in each specific phase; selecting and sending students studying in the first and second year at domestic training institutions to study abroad with a commitment to serving the Ninh Thuan 1 and Ninh Thuan 2 nuclear power plants.
At the same time, the Project organizes for leaders, managers, and leading nuclear scientists to survey experiences in training human resources in the field of nuclear power; conducts training, retraining, and short-term internships domestically and in countries with developed nuclear energy industries for engineers, bachelors, scientists, and managers working at domestic nuclear facilities; trains, fosters, and improves the qualifications of teaching staff in training facilities that directly train human resources in the field of nuclear power according to international standards.
