The work stoppage of more than 5,000 workers at Viet Glory Company Limited (located in Dien Chau district, Nghe An) has entered its third day. This morning (October 4), workers were present in front of the factory gate but did not go to work.
Early in the morning, the inter-sectoral delegation of Nghe An province and Dien Chau district was present, together with the leaders of Viet Glory Company Limited to organize a dialogue with the workers.

Previously, after lunch on October 2, thousands of workers of Viet Glory Company Ltd. left en masse, not working the afternoon shift. When the incident occurred, the Dien Chau District Labor Federation and the district’s functional agencies were present, grasping the workers’ concerns and collecting their opinions.
There are 8 groups of petitions from workers that have been forwarded by the union to the company's leadership, focusing on two main issues: increasing basic salary and reviewing piece rate.
In a notice sent to employees later, the company's leadership said that in the current situation, it is impossible to adjust the basic salary increase. The company hopes that employees will sympathize and share.
Some recommendations related to the working attitude of managers, timekeeping machines, meeting regimes, etc. have been accepted and adjusted by the company. The company also decided to increase the production bonus for all factory staff to ensure income for workers and to suit the current situation.

There are 2 recommendations related to increasing the number of people considered toxic, increasing toxic allowance and 13th month bonus that the company's leaders promised to consider and resolve in the near future.
On the morning of October 4, a number of proposals to adjust meal allowances, fuel allowances, attendance allowances, seniority, skills exams, etc. were received by the Nghe An province interdisciplinary delegation and forwarded to the leaders of Viet Glory Company Limited.
At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Chi Cong - Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation - analyzed the legal provisions related to the content of the workers' petition as well as the company's handling solution.
The Vice President of Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation called on workers to return to work soon to ensure wages and income for workers as well as maintain the company's production activities.

"Each employee needs to distinguish what is right and what is wrong to make a choice. If the company is wrong, we will ask the company to comply with the regulations," said Mr. Cong.
As a trade union, Mr. Cong hopes that employees and employers can find a common voice, on the basis of harmonizing interests and in accordance with legal regulations as well as the company's capabilities in a time of many difficulties in terms of orders like the present.
Viet Glory Company Limited specializes in manufacturing leather shoes for export, currently has about 6,000 workers. Currently, the company's basic salary is 4,130,000 VND, which is confirmed to be higher than the regional minimum wage applied in Dien Chau district (3,640,000 VND).
