International publications increased sharply compared to the same period last year
Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) has always been one of the leading units in the country in basic research, demonstrated by the number and quality of scientific works published annually, which continuously increases and ranks among the topuniversities in Vietnam.
Every year, scientists of Hanoi National University contribute nearly 2,000 articles according to ISI and Scopus standards, nearly 100 inventions, useful solutions, 15 transfer and start-up products. This is the foundation to increase the reputation of Hanoi National University in providing policy advice to central agencies, cooperating with partners to implement scientific and technological tasks, serving local development needs, and transferring research results to businesses.
In particular, the number of publications in the WoS/Scopus category has increased gradually over time. According to the 2023 Annual Report of VNU, in the first 6 months of 2023, scientists at VNU published 709 international articles. But in the first 6 months of 2024, scientists published 901 research results in the Scopus and Web of Science scientific bibliographic databases, an increase of 200 works compared to the same period last year.
Among them, Dr. Chu Dinh Toi (International School - VNU) still demonstrated excellence in research with an increase of 5 publications (25 compared to 20 in May 2024).
In addition, Dr. Pham Thanh Luan (University of Natural Sciences) also had 5 more projects in June, bringing the total number of research results to 14. Dr. Duong Van Hao (School of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts) was also excellent with 11 research results.
Also in June, Professor Nguyen Duc Khuong (International School - VNU) returned with the publication of 8 research results. The quality of publications in Q1 & Q2 up to this point is 68.8%.
Research topics focus on Social Sciences
According to the representative of VNU, the research topic on Social Sciences has grown well and has entered the TOP 5 research topics. This is one of the 4 main groups of fields that contribute to the orientation and planning of the University's science and technology product groups. This has demonstrated the investment interest of training units and researchers in this field.
In this issue, the Editorial Board provides experimental information on scientists' profiles extracted from the Pure experimental application of Elsevier publisher. The Pure application aims to support scientists, research groups, laboratories and managers of Science, Technology and Innovation of Hanoi National University to easily manage the quantity, quality, research productivity, strong research group review processes, scientific research proposal process, etc.
It is known that this is part of the plan to gradually improve research quality, move towards comprehensive digital transformation and successfully implement Resolution 45-NQ/TW of Hanoi National University.
